I read a fiction book because I like to be able to get away from everyday life and enjoy the story. When an author starts inserting his political beliefs into fictional stories I am done. I quit reading Stephen King 20 years ago for this reason and now I am done with Mayberry. Shame on you Mr. Mayberry.Back in rot and ruin ...was very nice but I had the feeling the action is a bit rushed, maybe is just me?

I'll walk away hungry for substance. Half way through and I'm struggling to find substance or value. the book is full of ambiguous lists, lacks originality, poorly structured, disorganized, and epitomizes the leadership cliche of the writing world. this is a good book for people who will never be leaders. A waste of time for any actual leader seeking to improve, most leaders place great value in time. "conduct self-discovery exercises", "know who you are", "learn to be open and vulnerable" "learn to apologize". I'm a lifelong student of leadership. The title is more insightfulthan the empty pages behind it.Learning to Lead Normally, I am a scifi, romance, urban fantasy reader...but I am trying to work up to earning a management leadership role at work. This book has a ton of great quotes and tips. The christian spin may not be everyones cup of tea, but an atheist would most probably be okay with it. It only hits at that sort of thing a few times and as a non-practicing christian I wasn't bothered by it.I would highly recommend it for anyone want to learn about servant leadership.H3 Leadership – An Idea with Spreading If you at all a fan of TED talks, you might recognize that the intention of each message is to challenge and provide the audience a call to action; to share an idea worth spreading. I believe the same principle should be true for a good book. H3 is most definitely one of them. Left me Speechless I wasn't a huge Spice Girls fan but I was somewhat familiar with her Spice Girls days because my little brother was a big fan. My familiarity with Mel was from her brief reality show and her time on AGT. I've always liked Mel's public persona as I've find her funny and affable. Initially, I had no plans to read the book but after hearing Mel B discuss it on TV I changed my mind.I'm glad I checked it out. Once I started the book I couldn't put it down. It only took me three days to finish it. I had no idea that Melanie's experienced so many trials and tribulations in her life. Parts of her story are hard to read but ultimately, I came away feeling relieved and proud that Mel finally had the strength to leave her ex-husband. She's a survivor in every sense of the word. I hope the next chapters in her life are filled with happiness and continued success in her career.I don't want to give anything away but the book will hold your attention even if you have just a passing interest in Mel's life. I do wish she'd talked more about her Spice Girls days but from her perspective I suppose she feels like she shared all that needed to be said. Much of the book talks about the last ten years of her life with her ex-husband and her struggle to survive his abuse. Those chapters she seems to "tell-all" but I'd say the rest of the book is measured and respectful. She's honest but doesn't share more than is really necessary. After all, she does have two young daughter's to protect. I enjoyed the book immensely.SCARY... I read tons of biographies and this one really got to me emotionally because I don't believe it's the end nor "happily ever after" for Melanie Brown and Family. Yes, it's brutally honest and I've never been in that kind of relationship because after one incident I would be gone, but that's me. With her, she seemed to want children to "fix" her problems and it seemed her life came first-her children had to follow her wherever they went, and they suffered just as much, probably more. I'm a firm believer to protect children as number 1 idea. I wasn't thrilled to read what happened to her during her choice relationships (except with Eddie Murphy-good guy) but NO, she didn't communicate with Murphy and figured I'll go back and get him...stubborn woman! Instead she ended up with men with MAJOR issues instead! Children again, suffering. If I had read, at the end, that she doesn't drink anymore, and in a program changing her life, cleaning up the past emotionally (not with riches, with emotions) then wow, but she still parties and that scares me. I pray for the children and I hope she decides to put them first. Wait till they are all over 18 years old, then look for a partner in life, great. But they are all still at risk, in my humble opinion which I know equals nothing herein. As for the book cover with her left hand exposed and no ring...what is she saying again? And that Stephen guy is someone who I would hate to even think exists in this world...but should be behind bars forever. NO, he owns a restaurant? WTF is that? I don't recommend this book to anyone unless I know they are going thru this and with a major drinking problem. I cried every night over the last few chapters for her pets and children, her father too. Read this if you like SCARY in your SPICE only!Brutally Raw What a gut wrenching book. I cried during most of it. Melanie packs a he'll of a story but it's been a hell of a life. This is a woman I admired and thought she had everything and the best of life. Truth shall set you free. Being a abused wife myself, I know all the signs so reliving that through this book was incredibly hard and there were times I had to put it down and stop. But I am thankful that she had the courage to get this done and start her life over and be the mom her children deserve. My heart, prayers and love to put to a remarkable woman who got sucked into a terrifying experience and was able to recover and come away with her life and love. There is a special place in hell for abusers and I pray one day they all get what they deserve. May Melanie now have the life she and her children deserve. Book packs a wallup!

Four Stars Extremely dry to read but still refer back to it in my career a year later.This book is the worst! Pick up the PMBOK and read it instead This book is the worst! Every example of a project management deliverable (e.g. project management plan, scope management plan, etc...) used as a 'guide' in this book...let's just say, if I used that template at a new job, I'd be walked out the door.Schwalbe needs to stick to classroom teaching.Not the book for me This book has a lot of good information but I personally find it to be a bit 'wordy'. Unnecessarily repetitive and somewhat unorganized. IMHO, people who LIKE to read for the sake of reading will not have any issues with this book. I on the other hand have limited amounts of time to read and wish the book would 'cut to the chase and get to the point'.
